PC Games since their birth have been full of quotable one liners, classic quotes that you can use to break the ice when meeting fellow geeks or just to annoy your friends, these are the Top 8.

And since I couldn’t narrow it down to just 1 quote from each game included is also a list of my personal favorite quotes from each game.

8. Shadow Warrior

Lo Wang deemed by many as the Asian Duke Nukem, and as being heavily inspired by Duke he of course had to come with his own set of classic one liners, some mildly offensive, some just plan rude and many based on Asian stereotypes.

6. Lo Wang: “[To naked ladies] Do you want to wash Wang or do you want to watch Wang wash Wang?”
5. Lo Wang: “[After firing a nuke] Just like Hiroshima.”

7. Warcraft II

A classic game by any standards, the quotes are short but catchy and even to this day I still use them around the office.
All quotes are caused by repeatably clicking the characters

4. Peon: “Zug Zug”
3. Alleria: “You never touch the other elves like that
2. Peasent: “Ready to serve”
1. Footmen: – “Join the army, they said.
See the world, they said.
I’d rather be sailing.”

6. BioShock

A game that makes you question the morality of your choices, a game that teaches you that maybe you shouldn’t be doing what you are told.
Many of the quotes from BioShock will no doubt become embedded in the gaming culture and stick around for years to come.

3. Andrew Ryan: “We all make choices in life, but in the end our choices make us.”
2. Andrew Ryan: “A man chooses, a slave obeys”
1. Atlas: “Would you kindly?”

5. Knights of the Old Republic

Knights of the Old Republic is quite possibly the best Star Wars game released. HK-47 is by far the most stand out character in KotoR, he’s a lovable assassin droid with an unquenchable thirst for blood.

4. HK-47: “Commentary: How would you like to be the wholly-owned servant to an organic meatbag? It’s demeaning! If, uh, you weren’t one yourself, I mean…”

3. HK-47: “Would you rather be caught with a contraband that is a little illegal, or very illegal?
Revan: What’s the difference?
HK-47: About 20 years, master.”

2. HK47: “Advisement:  Evisceration works well.  Electrocution, blunt trauma, and decapitation are also effective, I understand.”

1. HK47: “I am quite eager to participate in some unadulterated violence.”

4. Team Fortress 2

Even after playing it not stop for an entire weekend the quotes still don’t grate on you, amazingly they maintain their initial charm.

5. Spy: “I appear to have burst into flames”
4. Demoman: “Oh, they’re gonna have to glue you back together … in Hell!”
3. Sniper: “Thanks fer standin’ still, wanker!”
2. Engineer: Spy sappin’ my sentry!
1. Soldier: “Last one alive lock the door!”

3. Secret of Monkey Island

One of the most memorable adventures games released, it pushed LucasArts development studio into the spotlight and it is chock full of witty and hilarious dialogue.

3.  Guybrush: I’m looking for 30 dead guys and one woman.
Cannibal: I don’t think I want to hear any more about it.

2. Insult: “You fight like a dairy farmer.”
Comeback: “How appropriate. You fight like a cow.”

1. Guybrush: “That’s the second biggest monkey head I’ve ever seen!

2. Portal

An insanely fun FPS Puzzler, including a megalomaniac AI who is out to destroy you. GLaDOS the AI is by the most humorist character from a video game in many years.

3. GLaDOS: “In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.”

2. GLaDOS: “Didn’t we have some fun though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said “Goodbye” and you were like  “NO WAY!” and then I was all “We pretended we were going to murder you”? That was great!”

1. …: The cake is a lie

1. Duke Nukem 3D

To put it bluntly Duke Nukem is the most hardcore gaming manly man role model of all time, with his balls of steels and ass kicking attitude Duke is second to none.

5. Duke Nukem: “I’ll rip your head off and shit down your neck!”
4. Duke Nukem: “I’ve got balls of steel”
3. Duke Nukem: “Hail to the King, baby”
2. Duke Nukem: “Your face, your ass – what’s the difference?!
1. Duke Nukem: “It’s time to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and am all outta gum.”

To avoid any conflicts I do realise Dukes number 1 quote is stolen from a film, but Duke easily makes it his own.
