us.ikariam world:kappa
well i've played the game for nearly a year now and i wouldnt recommend it all unless u want to dedicate your life to the game. it requires you to play constantly and it aint even anything like world of warcraft, where its easy to get addicted, its so boring. the constant huge waiting times for things to build, fleets to move and slow overall game movement.
if you think that you can sit back and play the game once or twice a day, you are so wrong theres a 100's of times when i havnt been there for every part of the day and i've been pillaged, occupied, warehouses emptied, friends occupied and them asking for help but no one there and the worse thing when something take 4 hours to build you have to come back in 4 hours to build the next thing, otherwise u'll behind on your building.
its not a bad game if u want to try it out for a month but the biggest thing which is the worst problem is getting banned, DO NOT SPEND REAL MONEY on anything in the game, i've had so many friends from ikariam who got banned for dumbest things ever and losing all that real money spent on the game. one friend of mine put $100 into the game (starcraft2 = $50) and got banned for a month for pillaging a guy too many times in 24 hours after he was insulted by him on several occasions, so hes not allowed to attack him for insulting him?
theres plenty of decent games out there if you have a decent comp and with games becoming so graphic intensive, it makes ikariam look like something that came from the console NES

Just a warning to those who are curious on this game: Do NEVER ever spend real money on ambrosia! At least not until you are pretty sure you know every little intricate detail of the game rules.

I was playing together with some friends, and unfortunately we decided to help out one in the team by sending material to him. The mistake was to do that while we where on the same network (behind the same firewall), which according to the game rules is illegal. If we had done it while sitting on different networks, it would have been legal according to their rules.

We all got permanently banned, without any warning, and lost quite a lot of ambrosia (and money). Them keeping the money makes me question the ethical values of the company behind the game (Gameforge AG).

And the dumbest thing, according to the "support" people: We can create new accounts and then spend more money on those... yeah right. :-/

I played but it wasn't as funny as I though...it's better erepublik eRepublik is set in a mirror world where players, referred to as citizens, join in local and national politics, set economic policy, start businesses and wage wars with other countries. The game is designed to take just 15 minutes per day to maintain an active citizen. eRepublik estimates that over 90% of the content in the game has been created by citizens, including thousands of newspapers, hundreds of political parties, and vast numbers of companies that employ over a realistic populace of citizens. Citizens also provide national defense as soldiers and set foreign policy as presidents, congressmen and leaders of political parties.check this out

Great review - one quick note though:

By upgrading your trading post, you get the ability to trade to more distant islands - by even gaining access to the goods of islands 2 away, you can usually find everything you need, without purchasing ambrosia.
