From the moment I turned on this game to the moment I turned it off I experienced a rapid degradation of enjoyment. I played it on the Wii and was hoping this would be one of those games which stood out from the bad game influx on WiiWare; as the StrongBad e-mail animations are hilarious. Duke Nukem 3D release date

Not being very specific, Jason Ing informed Joystiq that the re-release of Duke Nukem 3D will be available for the Xbox Live Arcade sometime in September. Minimal graphic enhancement is seen in this Xbox exclusive title, not unlike the Doom remake for XBLA.

PSN Review: High Velocity Bowling

A far cry from your local “Mega Bowl” with its nauseating carpet designs and questionable facilities, High Velocity Bowling is a beautifully crafted game and the first on PSN (and possibly in PS3 history) to get the SIXAXIS just right.

Travian is a brower-based strategy game, which you can play for free, or get a luxury version with added tools for a very modest fee. But unlike other games which hold your attention intensively for a short period of time, Travian belongs to a category of games you could call passive web gaming. It only needs your attention for a minute or two, whether its once or twice per day, for a period of weeks or months.

Very often, while I’m chatting with people in the Kongregate.com chat rooms, the question will come up: “Do you know any good games?” There’s a list of classic responses that people get that basically name the top 5 highest rated / most popular games on the site. While this is an accurate list of “good games”, I tend to like to throw a curve ball in there and give them something they’re not expecting and might not hear of by looking around on the site on their own. So my answer is invariably: “Have you tried Areas?”

Artificial characters bring something special to a game. Often, they provide comic relief and serve as the light-heart of an otherwise deeply involved game. Sometimes they’re the voice of reason, serving as a pseudo-conscience to the main character(s).

And even still, they have been used as antagonistic characters, whether being manipulated by a greater evil or acting as the game’s main villain itself. Whatever the case, they are just as memorable as their organic-counterparts, and in this list, I will count down the top 7 artificial characters in video games.

Casualty Gamer: The Game

Starting later this week we will be rolling out a new system for Casualty Gamer, tentatively titled ‘Casualty Gamer: The Game’.

The new systems allows for users registration, avatars, ranks, points, levels and even achievements. More details will be announced when it’s closer to release.

The remake of the 1981 Galaga re-titled ‘Galaga Legions is making its debut on XBLA tomorrow, going for a ‘retro-evolved’ feel it looks like it could be quite fun for those looking for some simple top-down space shooter carnage.

It’s going for 800 points and is sadly only single player, trailer after the break.

Even more cards have been announced for our favorite flash card game ‘Kongai‘, this set is the ‘Witches’ an all female team of dark magic specialists, hopefully making a release this Halloween.
