Darkness is a PAC (point-and-click) horror game developed by Lutgames that is guaranteed to get your adrenaline rushing in minutes. It plays out in three episodes and will consume at least an hour of time if no guides are used.
Players take on the role of a dark-haired girl who was apparently left home alone. At first glance, it can be tempting to exit the game due to basic visuals that aren’t expected from the title and description. However, despite the first episode’s cheerful color scheme and lack of gradients, players will jump and get chills as the horror progresses in episodes two and three.
While most PAC games allow the player to solve some puzzles to pass the time and get a quick ego boost, Darkness really puts the pressure on the player to do it quickly. This is more true for the second episode than the rest, but considering all the creepy events that unfold throughout the entire story it’s best to solve every puzzle as quickly as possible. Although, Darkness doesn’t really contain any real puzzles. Instead, it offers PAC inventory puzzles; the type where a banana, toothbrush and a hershey kiss can get you into a locked cabinet.
The lack of real puzzles doesn’t hurt the gameplay at all because those would take more time. Anyone who plays this game is going to want to help the girl escape her current location as quickly as possible, so the less critical thinking involved the better.
The Darkness’ strength is the scares it has to offer. Players will find themselves mashing the spacebar and perhaps even turning their faces away to avoid the horror. The first episode is creepy enough to make players want to check out the second, which is so creepy that they may not want to try the third. However, someone has to help save the poor girl, so have a heart and play through all three episodes. Remember, for best experience play with lights off, headphones on.
To make your lives easier, here are the video guides. Of course, it is recommended that you try and play through on your own first to avoid spoilers. Walkthrough 1 2 3

I always wondered why people thought it was scary. I don’t think it has given me any good ones yet.
