Indie Game: Tower of Goo
By: Colin Robinson | September 20th, 2008

To find out what all the hype was about for the previously mentioned World of Goo I decided to check out Tower of Goo (the game that inspired World of Goo), and it definitely serves a great demo for their upcoming game.

The goal in Tower of Goo is simple, build your Goo Tower as high as possible without having it collapse; while this seems an easy task at first, trying to get your head around the physics of the Goo Tower is quite tricky… And using my not-so-sound engineering know-how I’ve managed to only get to a petty 21.9 meter before the tower tipped.

Download the game here, and post your height obtained below.

Tower of Goo is awesome, but I totally suck at it too. The guy that made it has a few more really awesome concept games floating around out there. More on that later… ;-)

I first played world of goo a month ago since I heard that the woindws version was running just fine under wine. Now that the linux version is out I would really want to buy (I love it!) the game so I tried the demo and unfortunately I found out that the audio of the native version is far worse than the woindws version under wine (running opensuse 11.1 at the moment). Always skippy! How is that even possible?!
