Flash Spotlight: 99 Bricks
By: Colin Robinson | November 7th, 2008

99 Bricks is a unique physics twist on Tetris, in 99 Bricks instead of having to clear lines of bricks you have to use them to construct a tower(… a tower of tetris!). So in a similar manner to World of Goo care must be made with ever construction choice you make.

As the title suggests suggest you only have 99 Bricks to build your tower with, thus it makes for a much more measurable competitive game then the regular Tetris (which games can last for hours), although I’ve already spent a few too many hours seeing what bricks make the best support and height while avoiding toppling my tower.

My only complaint with the game is that it can become impossible to get the brick exactly where you want it to be laid because as the bricks shift due to the gravity the placement lines don’t quite match the drop line.

Nonetheless it’s a nifty little game to burn a few hours on, and an original twist on Tetris. Check the game out here.

Oh man I loved playing this game, but it gets really weird with the physics up higher.
