The classic FPS Doom, claimed by some to be the greatest game of all time, has finally reached flash format. It’s a faithful copy of the original game, and after 15 years, Doom still remains immortal. Pioneer in 3D graphics, network multiplayer, and custom expansions, the game’s impact on the FPS genre is still seen everywhere.
The flash version contains the 3 episodes most people have played, the 4th which came out with the Ultimate Doom version (1.9) isn’t included. However, only the first episode is playable, the other episodes can be played by downloading the shareware version. While this game might feel mild compared to today’s games, it hasn’t lost it’s fun factor. Running through the Mars station killing demons is still as enjoyable as ever.
Your first steps into the hellish Mars station.
The key layout has changed a little bit, but it is easy to get used t, albeit just a tad annoying to Doom purists. The lack of a soundtrack might be annoying to players now, but nothing should detract from the beautiful screams of the damned when you send them back to hell. All in all, this is a great game, and a great way to bring even more players to witness the birth of an era in gameplay.
