Flash Game: Springy!
By: Nemesis | October 14th, 2008

If there is one particular brand of game that intrigues me most, then it must most certainly be puzzle games. Gamers themselves are a weird brand of people; where other people may give in, they will pursue a game to the very end, locked in a constant battle of wits with the game, never once daring to relax their concentration. This persistence is more than obvious when it comes to puzzle games, where not only is the game challenging you, but the developer themselves is seemingly mocking you from behind the scenes, laughing at every slip and mistake. And to give in to such ridicule would be unthinkable.

Maybe from your youth you can remember when interactive movies were popular, games such as Dragon Lair, Space Ace, Mad Dog McCree… Well I’m a massive fan of them so I took it upon myself to track down the company responsible for the re-releasing of them and get the latest information.

Casualty Rant: Pixel Junkies
By: DanZ | October 10th, 2008

I returned from this vegetarian restaurant downtown today after having eaten a meal that looked vaguely like something that fell out of a horse. I remember feeling disappointed at my inability to find pleasure in the “cool” things in life. Things like the trendy vegetarian restaurant downtown. Discouraged, I decided to fire up the Bioshock demo that was released on PSN recently as my first play through had been cut short and I was looking forward to finishing it. Ideally it would allay any concerns I may have had about always being “that guy” that bucks the popular trend just to be different. I bloody hate that guy. Read more… »

Spotlight: Dizzy and the Other Side
By: DanZ | October 10th, 2008

You’ll jump and roll your way through a sort of 2d open world environment, solving puzzles and interacting with the other egg people. The story in this game revolves around Dizzy’s quest to retrieve an artifact for a quasi-evil wizard who’s blackmailing him. It’s a light hearted affair. Read more… »

2DBoy is a brand new studio founded by the very talented Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel. Their first game “World of Goo” which was inspired by Tower of Goo, will be releasing shortly and, if early reviews are any indication, it’s going to be awesome. We’ll have a full review up soon enough and maybe a few other gooey surprises for you, but, in the meantime, we were given the opportunity to sit down (virtually) with Kyle and ask him a few questions.

I feel I should warn everyone ahead of time that our line of questioning and some of Kyle’s answers cover everything from lancing strange growths, to Jack Black, to glorious ways to end ones’ own life, so read ahead with caution and an open mind.
