InstantAction is a gaming site made by GarageGames that features easy to navigate 3D games. Most of them aren’t all that spectacular except for the fact that you are playing fully 3D games in your browser, but a recent release really caught my eye. Fallen Empire: Legions a fast paced FPS with graphics that define next-gen browser games.

After playing a round or two you will most likely be dissapointed with any other browser game since this one raises the bar so high, but fear not, InstantAction gets new games often and always has more being developed. So is this what we should be expecting from future? You bet!

August is upon us and the folks over at Xbox.com have thrown together and calender for the month’s upcoming games and a contest with some interesting prizes. The next five Wednesday’s will feature an XBLA game and after you play the trial version or the full version your GamerTag will automatically be entered into the sweepstakes.

We start things off on Wednesday July 30th with the release of Geometry Wars 2, followed by Braid on August 6th, Bionic Commando: Rearmed on the 13th, Galaga Legions on the 20th, and finally Castle Crashers on August 27th.

By: Colin Robinson | July 29th, 2008

Sonny one of the first games we reviewed and a true gem of a flash game has just been confirmed of having a sequel in the works.
On the official blog ‘Krin’ one of the game developers posted…

It’s on its way! We’ve been working slowly on it for a while now, but since Tainted Kingdom is done, we’re about to start going full speed on Sonny 2. It’s going to be a lot bigger than the first. We plan to have three different classes, but this time each class will have its own Ability Tree, and so thats 3 times more possible character builds than Sonny 1!

The Future of MMOs?
By: Chris | July 24th, 2008

Recently the browser based MMO Runescape released its High Detail version for the world to see. The graphics are now good enough to challenge even some of the big MMORPGs, since having a browser MMO means no more hefty downloads, fast loading, updating and making it much more accessible… Could it potentially pave a way for a new class of online games?

Maybe this isn’t enough to be a real rival to the downloadable MMOs yet, but it is a sign that browser based MMOs are evolving and you never know what can happen in an year or two.

After months of Call of Duty 4 domination, Halo 3 has once again become the #1 most played game on Xbox Live. Major Nelson’s update for the week of July 14th reveals Call of Duty 4 has only been bumped one spot down to 2nd, and Grand Theft Auto IV rounds out the top 3.  The full list can be found below.

The cause of this sudden burst in popularity is likely due to Bungie Day (7/7), bringing the price reduction of the Legendary Map Pack and a new multiplayer map. ‘Cold Storage’ is a free map on Xbox Live and is a remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved classic, Chill Out.

Still Alive on the XBLA
By: Chris | July 23rd, 2008

A lot of confusion has been at hand since the bad presentation at Microsoft’s press conference, but it is finally clear of what Portal’s “sequel” will consist off. It isn’t continuing the story of the first Portal, but rather it’s a bundle of levels. It will be available on the XBLA and will include the original content as well.

Also the creators of Portal:The Flash Version have transferred all 40 levels to the real Portal game and all you need to play it is have Half Life2 and Portal downloaded with Steam. Thus the XBLA version will feature those exact levels which are right now free for PC owners.
