Looking for a game to fill in this weekends void, check out colorPod 2.
The goal of the game is to survive. To do so you need to pick up colored balls (To upgrade power) and to shoot all the colorless geometry. You have a lens on the back, which is used to pick up colored balls, which, although a fun aspect, hinders movement. Although the color balls do not generally change in terms of AI, ‘Colorless’/white balls can, taking different shapes and characteristics as you go on.
The gimmick of the game is to switch ‘Dimensions’ to shoot balls. Colored balls can be picked up in both dimensions regardless, but you have to switch back and forth to shoot colorless balls. The system is clunky, but it will have to do.
There is a powerup system where you collect colors of balls to “Levelup” abilities. Leveling up does various things, like reloading or charging faster. Picking up balls is fairly easy although you level up quite slowly, and don’t get much to show for it.
The graphics are generic neon colors, and the music is nothing special. Although the game does have a great replay value, don’t expect the gameplay to change.
Although a solid game, dimensionPod brings nothing new and improved to the table.
