First I must give a disclaimer. I am a Galaga nut. As a wee sprat it is one of the first coin op games I ever really latched on to. Even after I gained a few years and the cool kids were playing Street Fighter on the big screen you would find my plunking my parents hard earned money in the smoke filled dens of video devilment. To this day I have been on actual dates where I have seen a Galaga machine and my eyes stare longingly over to it’s pixilated glory. In these cases, second dates are rare.

TakeTwo is back and is in fine form!* In this episode we have a look at where video gaming began, way, way back…
So get in the time machine and watch the episode here.
*(cept for the couple of minor glitches in the episode

To be a soldier of a war makes you feel honored and thus, defend your country at all costs. The predecessor of the reviewed game, Warlords: Call to Arms, let us be the commander where we repeatedly put soldiers in the battlefield at no cost besides death. Although it made many people snore, DJStatiska decided to give it another go and instead of becoming the commander, you become a common-folk hero soldier and complete the given mission. Does this magnification work or is it just another way to get more marketing revenue?

Today Wolfire Games released the official website for their upcoming game Overgrowth. Overgrowth is the sequel to one of my favorite Indie games ‘Lugaru‘ which was released back in 2005. Overgrowth definitely looks like it’s worth keeping an eye on.

What the hell is SFIITHDR you ask? Why it’s Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix of course and some interesting news about the title has just surfaced. Unfortunately they won’t be shortening the game’s title, but according to associate producer Rey Jimenez, Capcom is still on track to release it before year’s end.

The internet was set ablaze today as a video surfaced in which rapper Soulja Boy gives what may be the definitive review of Jonathan Blow’s time bending Live arcade game “Braid”.
Take a look at the video below, but be forewarned, Soulja Boy may or may not be high as a kite here and the video may or may not be suitable for the workplace. Hint: It’s not.

We may be a little late to the party on this one, but apparently Jane Jensen, author of the excellent Gabriel Knight series, is working on a new title called Gray Matter (Grey Matter for those of us outside the U.S.).
Apparently the new IP is an adventure game starring a sexy looking goth woman. This game seems to have slipped mostly under everyone’s radar until now, but hopefully we’ll be hearing a lot more in the coming months.

Is speed considered helpful in games? Yes, if it is a racing game. No, if it is an avoid-the-obstacle game and Vector Runner is one of them.

The game featured in this week’s edition of the weekly freebie, Little Girl In Underland, was chosen at the suggestion of our site’s founder and head honcho, Colin.
